The mission of the Harriet Tubman Charter School is as follows:
"...committed to helping each child develop to his/her fullest potential by recognizing that all human beings are endowed with unique talents and gifts and that the process of schooling should lead students to the realization, development, and expression of his/her potential.

We are a community of students, teachers, parents, and community members that promotes the educational achievement of its members through adopting high academic standards. We are a performance-based charter school created to serve the children of the Southeast Bronx while exploring the heritage of the many cultures represented in its community."

HTCS is designed to help students develop the skills to become leaders who read, think, write and communicate at high levels. Our mission is to prepare students for success throughout their college years and beyond."

Some of the faculty were truly interested in the best for each child and took part in the project to support the children.

The parents attended an innovate creative seminar on Saturday, October 19th. This enabled parents to become an integral part of the Nature's Mighty Bites™ "Take Charge of Your Life Program". The grand opening of the Nature's Mighty Bites™ ice cream was enjoyed by parents and children alike!

On November 16th the parents and children attended a meal-tasting party. It was obvious in the beginning that all were skeptical yet willing to learn and participate. However once the tasting started all enjoyed themselves as they saw that the Natures Mighty Bites™ meals are tasty, fun, and exciting! Some of the comments were; "This food tastes great!" "I feel energized after the meal, not like I want to go to sleep like I usually do when I eat what I usually prepare." "I can eat this way." All the food was enjoyed and the few leftovers were taken home to enjoy for another meal.
